Getting tickets to visit Robert’s table
To visit Robert’s table you must have a ticket with a secified day and time.
Experienced Festival goers will know the procedure but for first timers this is
important information.
The first thing to tell you is that the tickets to visit Robert’s table are absolutely free.
The purpose of the ticket is to provide you with a time and day slot to help minimise
your waiting time. Experience has shown that without this system people have been
in line as long as 6 hours as a matter of course. So we issue tickets with an agreed
time slot on a specific date, which if all goes well, will limit your waiting time to
little over an hour. This is not a guarantee, but it is our aim.
The tickets will be available at a table set up which is located separate from the
Convention ticket table. Our table is down the corridor from the Convention Ticket
Table. This is important to note as the Convention team will be under a lot of
pressure especially when they first open so the last thing they will need is a whole
load of Roberts fans landing on them trying to get tickets to his table. So please
make sure you locate Robert’s Ticket Table.
We will open the table on Wednesday afternoon to start issuing tickets. I will
confirm the time the table opens as soon as I have agreement from the Convention.
Please note the tickets can only be obtained from the issuing table - they cannot be
pre booked.
Once you have your ticket you must bring it with you at your specified time. You can
come earlier if you wish, but anyone with an earlier ticket time will go in before you.
There will be at least 3 Fandom Volunteers managing the line that is waiting to go to
Robert’s table, so there will be plenty of people there to help you on the day.
Robert’s Table Times
Robert will be at the Convention for the full 3 days. He will arrive on Wednesday
afternoon and I would ask you all to respect his privacy when he arrives. He will
have been travelling for over 7 hours and will naturally be feeling tired. So please
give him and Jennifer time to get checked in, settled into their room and refreshed
before descending on them to say hello. They usually, if time allows come down to
the foyer to say hello to everyone - it is part of the event that they love, so you
should have ample opportunity to welcome them. Again for everyone’s protection
please allow them to come to you. It really is not very diginfied getting trampled to
the floor, and we don’t want anyone getting hurt.
Robert will be at his table around 10.am Thursday morning. He usually likes to go
around and say good morning to everyone before settling down to work.
He will be at his table for the 3 full days only taking occasional breaks.
He will do a celebrity panel at 2pm on Thursday.
The important thing to note is he will be there for the 3 day duration.
Ideal Gifts for Robert and Jennifer
At every Festival Robert and Jennifer receive many wonderful gifts. People often ask
what is the best sort of gift to give. Well there are no strict rules on this however I
can tell you that there are certain gifts that hit the spot because Robert and Jennifer
use them.
One thing I would say is to avoid short life products because it is usually a week on
the road before they get home - by that time they are pretty much ruined.
Also avoid overly fragile things. While I try to take as good a care of them as I can,
they are at more risk than the sturdy stuff. . I have in the past been asked to take
special care of this item or that item. While I would love to do that I am sorry but I
have a lot of stuff to transport and cannot really promise to single out any items.
Here are some suggestions for gifts you might like to consider which I know Robert
likes and which travel really well:
1)
Many of you know Robert enjoys a good Cabernet. He tends to enjoy a glass with
dinner every day so this is a really useful gift. Easy to transport too.
2)
Robert does not wear cologne but he does wear Pierre Cardin After Shave
3)
Jennifer likes a good Pinot Noir so that would be a good choice.
Private Fandom Q and A - Fandom members and guests only
Robert loves to meet with his Fandom and for the last almost 20 years has dedicated
special “Fandom Time” where he holds a special Q and A which is exclusively for
Fandom Members and their guests., and this is where Fandom Members get the
chance to ask Robert about his life and career. This year he will be accompanied by
his lovely wife Jennifer Savidge so Fandom Members get the chance to ask her stuff
too.
The Fandom Q and A is scheduled for 1pm Saturday in “The Mahogany Room” and will
last somewhere between 1 to 2 hours.
As the venue does not have a roving mike, you will be required to submit your
questions before the convention. Your questions will then be put to Robert and
Jennifer with credit given to the person who submitted the question. It is easy to do
this - simply do this:
1)
Send me your question by email to robertfullerfandom@gmail.com
2)
In the subject line of your email put Fandom Q and A Question
3)
Clearly state your question
4)
State your first and last name
5)
Say if you will be at the festival or not.
You have up to Friday 29th May to get your questions to me.
Please note - I cannot guarantee every question will get asked - that really depends
on how much time we have. All questions will be selected randomly and Robert will
not see any of them ahead of the Q and A.
Special “Photo Opportunities” with Robert and Jennifer
This has been a really popular feature of Conventions and is something we will be
repeating again at The Mid South Nostalgia Festival. There will be 2 sessions. One
with Robert and Jennifer and one with Robert and Darby Hinton..
This is how it works. For the each photo session you will have your very own
personal photograph taken in a private location by accomplished photographer Liz
Wright Pantall.
The cost of each photo is $60 and you can either do a solo photo with them or if you
want take it a little cheaper you can have a group photo - maximum number of
people in a group photo is 5 including celebrities
If you want a photo with Robert and Jennifer that session will be on Friday at 4pm in
The “Redwood Room”
If you want a photo with Robert and Darby that session will be on Saturday at
3.30pm in “The Mahogany Room”
Tickets for each of these sessions will be on sale from Thursday morning at the
table where you purchase Robert’s photos - just outside the Festival Hall.
Dress code for the Banquet
Many people ask about the Convention dress code for the Banquet.
Well from experience I can say there really isn’t a formal dress code. But many
people opt to dress in smart western fashion or smart casual. If you want to be
more formal then I don’t think they will mind. Just don’t turn up looking like you just
did 3 months in the widerness living in the wild……. Get the idea!! Anyway they let me
in and if they are okay with my outfits then you have no worries!!
Food from in and around the hotel
Historically Whispering Woods Hotel has provided a nice breakfast but I don’t think
they ever did dinner. According to their website they now have a fully functioning
bar and restaurant. Check out their website for more details

If you are not staying at Whispering Woods or just want to eat outside of the hotel
there are nummerous options. Of course it is better if you have transport, but there
are some places close to the hotel too. Below is a map of places quite close to
Whispering Woods (Courtesy of Beverly Lyons)
If you have a vehicle there are many other places, steakhouses, Chinese, Italian etc.
You can “Google for more info on the type of restaurant you want. Below is a map
with some ideas if you have transport
