Helpful Information about meeting
Robert Fuller
Robert at a Q and A with Fandom Members
Getting tickets to visit Robert’s table
To visit Robert’s table you must have a ticket with a specified day and time.
Experienced Festival goers will know the procedure but for first timers this is
important information.
The first thing to tell you is that the tickets to visit Robert’s table are absolutely free.
The purpose of the ticket is to provide you with a time and day slot to help minimise
your waiting time. Experience has shown that without this system people have been
in line as long as 6 hours as a matter of course. So we issue tickets with an agreed
time slot on a specific date, which if all goes well, will limit your waiting time to
little over an hour. This is not a guarantee, but it is our aim.
The tickets will be available at a table set up which is located separate from the
Convention ticket table. Our table is down the corridor from the Convention Ticket
Table. This is important to note as the Convention team will be under a lot of
pressure especially when they first open so the last thing they will need is a whole
load of Robert’s fans landing on them trying to get tickets to his table. So please
make sure you locate Robert’s Ticket Table.
We will open the table on Wednesday afternoon to start issuing tickets. I will
confirm the time the table opens as soon as I have agreement from the Festival.
Please note the tickets can only be obtained from the issuing table - they cannot be
pre booked.
Once you have your ticket you must bring it with you at your specified time. You can
come earlier if you wish, but anyone with an earlier ticket time will go in before you.
There will be at least 3 Fandom Volunteers managing the line that is waiting to go to
Robert’s table, so there will be plenty of people there to help you on the day.
Robert’s Table Times
Robert will be at the Convention for the full 3 days. He will arrive on Wednesday
afternoon and I would ask you all to respect his privacy when he arrives. He will
have been travelling for over 7 hours and will naturally be feeling tired. So please
give him and Jennifer time to get checked in, settled into their room and refreshed
before descending on them to say hello. They usually, if time allows come down to
the foyer to say hello to everyone - it is part of the event that they love, so you
should have ample opportunity to welcome them. Again for everyone’s protection
please allow them to come to you. It really is not very diginfied getting trampled to
the floor, and we don’t want anyone getting hurt.
Robert will be at his table around 10.am Thursday morning. He usually likes to go
around and say good morning to everyone before settling down to work.
He will be at his table for the 3 full days only taking occasional breaks.
He will do a celebrity panel - Timing to be confirmed.
The important thing to note is he will be there for the 3 day duration.
Ideal Gifts for Robert and Jennifer
At every Festival Robert and Jennifer receive many wonderful gifts. People often ask
what is the best sort of gift to give. Well there are no strict rules on this however I
can tell you that there are certain gifts that hit the spot because Robert and Jennifer
use them.
One thing I would say is to avoid short life products because it is usually a week on
the road before they get home - by that time they are pretty much ruined.
Also avoid overly fragile things. While I try to take as good a care of them as I can,
they are at more risk than the sturdy stuff. . I have in the past been asked to take
special care of this item or that item. While I would love to do that I am sorry but I
have a lot of stuff to transport and cannot really promise to single out any items.
Here are some suggestions for gifts you might like to consider which I know Robert
likes and which travel really well:
1)
Many of you know Robert enjoys a good Cabernet. He tends to enjoy a glass with
dinner every day so this is a really useful gift. Easy to transport too.
2)
Robert does not wear cologne but he does wear Pierre Cardin After Shave
3)
Jennifer likes a good Pinot Noir so that would be a good choice.
4)
Please do not bring perishable short life gifts that need refrigeration as we have
no way of transporting refrigerated goods.
5)
Try to avoid fragile goods as I cannot guarantee their safety. If you do want to
give something thaty is fragile please ensure you wrap it appropriately
6)
Please tag your gifts with your name - Robert and Jennifer get lots of gifts and it
is impossible for them to remember who gave what. Make sure name tags are
stuck firmly to the gift not just put beside it in the wrapping.
