Teenage Thunder was one of two movies Robert made for Howco International, a film production and distribution company based in New Orleans. The other Howco movie Robert made was the cult classic Brain From Planet Arous.
Robert starred in Teenage Thunder with his good friend Chuck Courtney, in fact it was Chuck that persuaded director Paul Helmick to cast Robert in the movie. The story goes that Helmick wanted another actor to play the role of Maurie Weston and could not be persuaded to change his mind. Chuck, who was an accomplished stunt man thougt it would be a good idea to stage a fight scene from the movie with Robert and invite Helmick to see it. This they did and Helmick was so impressed he offered Robert the part.
