Robert actually started doing plays long before he ventured into the
entertainment business. His first performance was in the late 1940’s while he was
in high school. In fact he did 2 different plays, “HMS Pinafore” and “Forest Prince”
Once he had established himself as an actor he continued to do work in the
theatre, his first professional play being “Tea And Sympathy” with Michael
Landon, Eddie Byrnes and Jack Nicholson. This was around 1956/57.
