Between 1950 and 1962, F. Maurice Speed edited the “Western Film Annual”, renaming it “The Western Film And TV Annual” in 1956. This annual was published by MacDonald in the UK.Based in the UK, Speed had become a famous writer specializing in annual film books, notably his annual “Film Review” which launched in 1944, and still exists today in 2024 although now is of a digital format. Robert featured in 2 of Speed’s “Western Film And TV” annuals that we know of. By the time Robert went into Wagon Train this annual had ceased to exist.
