Ten Commandments was an epic Cecil B DeMille production starring Charlton Heston. The film also starred Yul Brynner who Robert worked with 10 years later in Return Of The Seven. Another young actor who appeared in this movie and later went on to tv western stardom was Cheyenne’s Clint Walker.

Friendly Persuasion was a very significan film in Robert’s career. This was actually’s Robert’s very first movie where he had dialogue. Famously, he was given his very first speaking part, due to the fact that William Wyler was looking at extras to find a young man to play a soldier who has one line in the film. He was impressed by the fact Robert’s sideburns were real and so looked authentic.In addition to this John Smith, Robert’s Laramie co-star featured in the movie and was the first time they actually had a close up shot together (watch the church scene).
