“Massacre At Fort Phil Kearny” was a dramatized television episode of the “Bob Hope Chrysler Theatre”, an anthology series sponsored by Chrysler. Being a dramatisation it is based upon the actual events that became known as “the wagon box fight” that took place on August 2nd 1867. Robert plays Fetterman, the captain that led his men to their deaths on that fateful day. His portrayal is a departure from anything he has done before, playing an arrogant and vindictive man, again showing the range he is capable of as an actor.
