The Alaska Kid

Making the Alaska Kid in Russia was one of the worst experiences of Robert’s career. He was filming for only 2
weeks but said the food and accomodation was awful and he could not have stood it for longer. The show itself is in
German but there is dubbing for English speaking countries. However the dubbing is strange in so much as they do
not fully remove the original track but dub the voice over them. Also they use only one male for all the male
speaking parts and one female for all the female speaking parts. All in all it is kind of weird!!
That said, visually it is a very impressive piece of filming with some great scenery shots. And of course for Robert’s
fans this is as an important a role as any other that he did and gives us a chnce to view more of his work.
The story itself is based upon Jack London’s short story anthology “Smoke Bellew” and is about the Klondike gold
rush. Robert featured as a guest star in 2 episodes.

“The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr” only ran for 1 season and 27 episodes. The pilot featured a number of
established TV western series stars including James Drury, Paul Brinegar, Stuart Whitman and Robert Fuller.
Robert’s role is a guest star role, but is really more of a cameo as he only appears for a few minutes near the
start of the show.
This is Robert’s second appearance in the role of tycoon Kenyon Drummond in “The Adventures Of Brisco
County Jr”. Kenyon and his partner played by Paul Brinegar hire Brisco to go to Mexico and bring back
some stolen guns.
